Xander finally has a hat made just for him. It is a combination of two patterns and I think it turned out really nice. So here it is

The other thing that has been going on was kids knitting classes. I spent yesterday afternoon teaching my 4th grade girl scouts how to knit. Some of them really liked it, others got very frustrated. I have to say, next time that I teach knitting to a group of people, I am going to keep the numbers to 5 people or less. Anymore and frustration abounds.

So I moved on from knitting socks to knitting hats

I realized that I needed a hat for mileage club. It gets cold out there for 2 hours every day. So I went to the LYS and found some beautiful Noro yarn to make my hat. Unfortunately, the first pattern that I knitted I did not like, so I tore it back and started over. The second pattern that I knit I loved, but the hat was just a hair to small. So instead of tearing it back and knitting it again, I realize that Rachel needed a hat, and gave it to her. However, when one kid gets something, the others want one too. So here are Rachel and Brianna in their new hats.

I am still working on Xanders hat, but it should be done soon. But the weather is too nice today to spend indoors, so away I go!

Here are my latest socks. I absolutely adore them. The pattern is Simple SYKP Socks and they were quick and fun to knit. Here they are:

And here is a closeup of the pattern:

I loved the yarn I used, but not the price. The yarn was Footprints by Blue Ridge Yarns. They coordinate the colors for the heal/toe and it seems to be a slightly thicker yarn. Anyway, lots of fun was had knitting these.

The next project will be a hat for myself (it gets really cold working mileage club and geocaching) and I will probably knit a pair of socks for each of the kids.
